Working closely a Christian independent grant-making charity, we were tasked with the delivery of a complete branding project for Love Portsmouth -Jesus. Working this assignment was a challenge! The client requested neutral branding without any “religious” elements on display.
In reply to this brief, we created a text-based logo with two modern but conservative fonts utilising two shades of blue and a vibrant accent colour – orange. This theme was extended to their branding, logo design, and web design.
Additionally, we were asked to create a variation of the logo and we went on to produce the following versions:
• Submark – a simplified version of the logo for social media profile images.
• A Reversed version of the logo with a lighter colour scheme, for placing on the darker backgrounds.
For their responsive website, we applied the same principle: No religious elements involved (e.g. no “crosses”, “churches” or “praying”). Hence, we chose a range of photos of happy people, and a seascape view of their city, in order to create a vibrant and community style atmosphere!
Their “Home” and “About Us” pages have much content, so we used different coloured blocks in the branding colour scheme, to separate the content into different sections, so the layout looks simple, easy to read, eye-catching and creative, but not too distracting.
We also designed the Facebook cover for LP-J, which is device responsive.
Testimonial:
We commissioned Mona for a branding and web design project for our Christian funding charity. The requirement was to produce a branded website to promote the charity’s mission to the modern user. There were many different branding ideas from the Charity’s trustees, however together with Mona’s help, we were able to coordinate all these ideas, with Mona providing excellent guidance and specialist advice, ensuring the project ran smoothly.
The end result was a successful modern, mobile friendly website, with a clear and distinct brand – exactly what we wanted. We are grateful to Mona for her listening skills, creative ability and expert advise in helping us deliver the project.
